Flying a drone for the first time is exciting, but it can also feel slightly intimidating. There are unfamiliar controls, spinning propellers and a camera you want to use without accidentally steering into the nearest tree.
The good news is that your first flight does not need to be ambitious. In fact, the best first flight is usually simple: take off, hover, practise a few slow movements and land safely.

1. Prepare Before You Leave Home
A successful flight starts before the drone leaves the ground.
Charge the drone battery and controller fully. If your model uses a phone app, download it, connect the drone and check that the live camera view works before travelling to your flying location.
